![]() I've written about the different release scenarios here: However, in this Return To Monkey Island the graphics are so full of artistic cues that it is perfectly fine for me. This graphic style has never excited me I have had a lot to do with the technical aspects of graphics, and this graphic style makes it easier to create animations, saving on the actual drawings that the artist has to make. Since a DRM-free version exists, even though only as kickstarter backer reward, GOG is practically the only other candidate to release it to in the hopes that it will receive a warmer reception here. The controversy over graphics and art-style is far from over and once the game is released the negativity could spill over to reviews. If not I suspect that it will not take very long until it appears here and out of the blue. That's why I think it will also be released on GOG and with some luck on its release day. Gilbert has obtained the license to use the LucasArts IP from Disney and publishing rights belong to Devolver Digital. ![]() ![]() Since Devolver has pretty much always released its games on GOG on Day 1, and Ron Gilbert wouldn't seem to be hostile to DRM-free (although I don't recall hearing him in favor of it either), it could be an imposition from Disney, which if I'm not mistaken has control of the Monkey Island IP. Alexim: With so few days until release, it seems clear to me that it won't be coming to GOG, at least on Day 1.
